I looked out into our garden, and wondered if I could discern an impatience in growing things for Spring to arrive. Is the Earth exhausted after the year gone by, or has it rested and is now keen to produce green and coloured things?
In my household I feel like I am seeking sanctuary from the cold air outside. But equally, I may seek to revel in warm woollen coats, comforting scarves, and sturdy shoes. Is that the zone from which to launch my stride into the New Year?
So many questions. How about a statement?
I acknowledge that I have many unfulfilled tasks in the arenas of my life. Those arenas are Home, Work, and Creative. The activities in those arenas are:
Home:
- Management and maintenance
- Provide care
- Pay bills
- Cooking and baking
- Wardrobe management
- Visits with brothers and friends
Work:
Parish:
- AFR 2023
- Weekly bookkeeping tasks
- Improving office systems, e. g. Scan to OneDrive from Ricoh copier
CLP:
- Accounts agreed and audited on time
- Functioning Cloud storage for branch and CLP minutes
- Campaigning
- Fundraising
- Development
Creative:
Photography:
- Create more photos than 2024
- Create a portfolio of portrait work
- Raise my Photoshop skills
- Inspiration from new photo monographs
Writing:
- Attend the ‘Writing Gym’ on a regular basis.
- Understand how published writers, fiction and non-fiction, structure a narrative
- Create a functioning blog on stevemcevoy.net
To support the above, I need to be tidier and better organised. My current idea is the application of a ‘routine’. This is something I have always resisted as it does not allow for spontaneity, and lacks the opportunity for sudden diversion. I would need to devote some hours to clearing the space around me that is cluttered.
